eircom broadband
- 1 faulty cable
- 4 repair attempts
- 12 days to fix it
- 5 weeks out of 52 without service
- 1 new customer for O2 broadband
Welcome to broadband in Ireland. It's a farce. Every home in this country must have access to fast, reliable broadband. But our Government does not seem to have a clue.
Country help back by Government's broadband blindspot.
I think 02 may disappoint you even more. NTL is the only company that has given me worse service than them in Ireland.
In a nutshell, they continued to bill me despite cancelling my account with them. about 6 months later i finally got my money back which effectively the stole from me. quite wonderfully though due to their huge inefficiencies and departments seemingly working in complete isolation, they have giving me my money back several times. thanks 02!
my advice when dealing with any of these service providers, keep names and dates of when you deal with them. it makes sorting out (the inevitable) future problems much, much easier

We'll see. I have signed up to O2 just to have a backup. And while O2 messed up when setting up my account, I was impressed by the speed and professionalism with which they sorted the issue.
I completely agree with you on keeping names and dates. I recommend noting every single interaction with names/times/dates etc.

As you will see I have just signed up for them and apart from the delays that you highlight the speed of eircom is so slow.
I live in the city centre and last year when moving here it took eircom 7 weeks to install my line - 7 weeks!!!
